Chinese Taipei's Wang Qinfang makes debut at Beijing Open
(Beijing, November 16) On the second day of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 Beijing Judo Open, Wang Chin Fang of Chinese Taipei made her debut in the women's 63kg group preliminaries and successfully sailed into the next round with a win by an "ippon" over Hong Kong China's Chan Tsz Kwan.
Wang Chin Fang is the only judoist representing Chinese Taipei in the Beijing Open. The Chinese Taipei team is known for its strength in judo, and Wang Chin Fang is one of the best on the team. As a bronze medalist at the 2002 Asian Games and a silver medalist at the 2007 World University Games, 24-year-old Wang is in her prime, with her stamina, techniques and tactics on the rise.
Wang is not lonely during the Beijing tournament. Joining in the host team for pre-event training she was apparently in high spirits. In her first group match against Chan Tsz Kwan from Hong Kong China she gained the upper hand over Chan and made short work of the battle with two "waza-aris" in a matter of 38 seconds.
