On the opening of the 2007 Beijing Judo Open£¬it is my great pleasure to express, on behalf of University of Science and Technology Beijing and the Organizing Committee of this event, my sincere and warm welcome to IJF£¬all IJF Bureau Members, judokas and friends from various countries and regions of the world.

Judo is a highly competitive sport with strong appeal and challenge. This judo event will not only greatly enhance the popularity of the sport and increase its athletic competence, but also lay a very good foundation for the organization of the 2008 Olympic Games. We will make every effort to do well in the organization, security and services to ensure the smooth running of this event.

I would like to thank IJF and COC for their trust and care, as well as the municipal government of Beijing for its support in all aspects. I would also like to express my gratitude to enterprises, media, and people from all walks of life who have given their great help to the sport.
