REGULATIONS FOR ‘GOOD LUCK BEIJING ' 2007 BEIJING JUDO OPEN

 

1. HOST

November 15-16, 2007

 

4.COMPETITION VENUE

Gymnasium of the Science & Technology University of Beijing —Olympic Hall

 

5. EVENTS

Competition will take place in the following weight categories:

Men: Over 60kg up to and including 66kg (-66kg cat.)

Over 73kg up to and including 81kg (-81kg cat.)

Women: Over 48kg up to and including 52 (-52kg cat.)

Over 57kg up to and including 63kg (-63kg cat.)

 

6. ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY

•  Each National Federation may nominate one athlete per weight category (except the host country).

--For female athletes, per weight category £¬ the maximum quota of athletes is 24.

--For male athletes, per weight category £¬ the maximum quota of athletes is 33.

--The organizing committee will confirm athletes based on the order of entry forms submitted until the quota is reached.

•  Entrants must be minimum grade 1 st Dan recognized by the IJF.

•  Closing date for Entries is 15 th October, 2007.

 

7. RULES

Judo competition will be held in accordance with the IJF Sports and Organization Rules(SOR) and Referee Rules.

 

8. DRAW

The Draw will be held in Gymnasium of the Science & Technology University of Beijing on the 14 th of November.

 

9. COMPETITION SYSTEM

The competition will be run in an elimination format with repechage. Judokas will be divided into two tables, A and B, by means of a draw, and in turn into two groups within each table: Al, A2, B1 and B2. The elimination system will be used to produce two finalists.

 

All judokas defeated by the group winners of A1, A2, B1 and B2 will take part in the repechage of their respective group, e. g. the first competitor defeated by the winner of the group A1 will compete against the second competitor defeated by the winner of the group, the winner of this contest will compete with the third defeated and so on; the winner of the repechage of the group A1 will then have to compete with the winner of the repechage of group A2 for the final of repechage.

 

The two winners of the final of repechage will fight against the losers of the final of the opposite table for the bronze medals (2 are awarded).

 

The winners of table A and table B will fight off for the gold and silver medals.

 

10. COMPETITION SCHEDULE

One male and one female weight category will be held on each day of competition.

11. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

All National Federations have to be responsible for the accommodations during Beijing Judo Open 2007 and international travel expenses of thei r teams.

 

12. ACCOMMODATION

Organizing Committee is offering booking services to teams during the 2007 Beijing Judo Open, at the Mengxi Hotel and the Unisplendour International Center . All reservations should be made through the Organizing Committee. Participants are kindly requested to book their accommodation as soon as possible and in any case no longer than November 1 st , 2007

The Mengxi hotel is of B category (3 stars) and the Unisplendour International Center

is A category (4 stars) and offer the choice of Half Board (only breakfast) or Full Board (breakfast, Lunch & dinner).

13. TRANSPORTATION

Organizing Committee will provide transport from the Beijing Capital Airport to the

hotels upon arrival and from Official Hotels to the Beijing Capital Airport on

departure. During the 2007 Beijing Judo Open , transportation will be provided

between the venue and hotels at predetermined times and schedules.

 

14 £® ACCREDITATION

•  All Applicants of ‘Good Luck Beijing' 2007 Beijing Judo Open must go through the accreditation procedures and be accredited.

•  All the contents of accreditation have already been included into the sports entry form. The responsible organizations should fill out the sports entry forms for their applicants and return the completed forms to the Organizing Committee of “Good Luck Beijing” 2007 Beijing Judo Open before the deadline.

•  Responsible organizations must ensure that the data in the sports entry forms are complete and correct, and return the completed forms the Organizing Committee before the deadline. Any false or incomplete data will directly hinder the accreditation procedure of relevant applicant. The Organizing Committee will not take any responsibility for delay of accreditation due to incorrect-completed forms.

 

15. DOPING CONTROL

The doping test will be conducted according to IJF regulations.

 

16. INSURANCE

Each National Federation must assume all responsibility for accident and health insurance as well

as the civil liabilities for their competitors and officials, during the event.

 

17. JUDOGI & ADVERTISING

•  No advertising or commercial identification is allowed in the venue apart from controlled commercials identification as approved by the organizer.

•  The measurements of the judogi and their conformity with the IJF rules will be controlled by officials appointed by the IJF.

Competitors will be required to bring 1 white and 1 blue. The color standards for the Judogi must be in conformity with those in the IJF Sports and Organization Rules: between pantone numbers, N°18-4051 and N°18-4039 on the pantone scale of TP and 285 0r 286 for print.

 

18. VISA

Each participant requiring a visa should proceed in person to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their own home country at least 15 working days prior to their departure, holding together with their passport the confirmation letter sent to them, in order to have their visa on time.
